Black Magic Curses, Hexes, Spells
Man has been fascinated by “Magic” since the dawn of the time, the supernatural means to bring about a desired outcome by the use of spells or ritual is strong in all cultures. “Black Magic” 0r dark magic or left hand path magic uses magic for selfish or evil purposes. Practitioners of Left Hand Path magic sometimes referred to as “brothers of the shadow” are the opposite of right hand path magic, or magic that is “white” and used for beneficial purposes. Modern day Witchcraft is often referred to by the Church and Press as “Black Magic” but nothing could be further from the truth! Witchcraft is a pagan/nature religion that respects all life and nature.
“Magic” not to be confused with Conjuring and Magic tricks can be defined as ” The art of causing change to occur in conformity of will” this term was used to differentiate between the Occult and the performance of Magic Tricks by notorious Satanist and self styled “Great Beast 666” Aleister Crowley.
All Magic is neutral in power, that is, it can be used for good or evil by the Magician, Magus, Witch or Sorcerer. The invocation of Demons or Spirts by the Sorcerer is classed as Black Magic which is distinct from the worship of higher spiritual beings by those of Witchcraft and High Ritual Magic or Theurgy (Angelic Magic) where upon an Angelic presence is called upon for help with healing as an example.
The lines as to what is considered “Black” and “White” are often blurred though, Elizabethan Magus John Dees 16th century rituals for example, were included in Anton LeVeys “Satanic Bible” (1969) and some of his ritualistic practices considered as “White Magic” are now associated with Black Magic.
John Dees rituals with the help of Medium Edward Kelly were designed to contact higher Angelic spirits and through his system of Magic the Enochian alphabet was revealed. LeVeys bible however is the complete opposite as it offers the same rituals to contact Evil Spirits and Demons.
LeVey said “White magic is supposedly utilized only for good or unselfish purposes, and black magic, we are told, is used only for selfish or “evil” reasons. Satanism draws no such dividing line. Magic is magic, be it used to help or hinder. The Satanist, being the magician, should have the ability to decide what is just, and then apply the powers of magic to attain his goals. Satanism is not a white light religion; it is a religion of the flesh, the mundane, the carnal – all of which are ruled by Satan, the personification of the Left Hand Path.”
Voodoo is also associated with Black Magic and the Left Hand Path. Sorcerers like the Bokor use curses, rituals , blood to curse their opponents or hex them. The sticking of pins into a doll that represents the person you wish to harm is an example of Voodoo practice. A great film that explores Voodoo and Zombies is “The Serpent and The Rainbow” .
Voodoo and Black Magic is still practiced in London and elsewhere today to quote the rather horrific story from The Daily Mail;
Britain’s voodoo killers:
He drove a top-of-the-range Mercedes and spent his spare time coaching a local women’s football team.
But unbeknown to their neighbours and friends, this couple living in their suburban London flat led a terrifying secret life.
They practised African black magic or voodoo, and on Christmas Day in 2010 they murdered a teenage boy in the belief he was a witch.
To rid the 15-year-old of his ‘demons’, the couple attacked him with knives, sticks, metal bars, a hammer, pliers and a chisel until he begged to die.
After three days of torture, Kristy Bamu was put in the bath and hosed down with cold water to get rid of the blood on his body. Horribly injured, he slid under the water as the bath filled up, and drowned.
The case was a shocking reminder of how black witchcraft, with its roots in Africa, South Asia and the Caribbean, is now practised in the heart of our multicultural cities and towns.
Montague Summers in his book Witchcraft and Black Magic said;
The lowest depths of black mysticism are well-nigh as difficult to plumb as it is arduous to scale the heights of sanctity. The Grand Masters of the witch covens are men of genius – a foul genius, crooked, distorted, disturbed, and diseased.
