the pathless way

About Ian Broadmore

The Long Road to a Simple Truth

For over three decades, I was a traveller in the shadows of the “hidden world.”

I spent my life searching for God through the complex and the esoteric. My journey took me deep into the rituals of Witchcraft and Paganism, the structural mysteries of the Kabbalah, and the ancient lineages of the Rosicrucians and the Knights Templar.

I worked as a psychic, a medium, and a healer. I mastered the Tarot and practiced the precise arts of ritual magic. I was looking for the “secret key”—the knowledge or power that would finally bridge the gap between my soul and the Divine.

The Great Exhaustion

What I found, after 40 years of seeking, was that I had accumulated a vast library of “special knowledge,” but my heart was still searching for home.

I realized that much of the esoteric world—while fascinating—often serves as a playground for the ego. We become “adepts” and “initiates,” yet we remain disconnected from the very source we claim to serve. The rituals became theatre; the “secrets” became barriers.

One day, I simply stopped. I put down the cards, stepped out of the circles, and left the mystery schools behind.

The Way of the Heart

What remained was silence. And in that silence, I found what had been there all along.

I discovered that nature is the only cathedral I need, and the heart is the only altar required for worship. I realized that God isn’t a prize for the “initiated”—the Divine is the very breath in our lungs and the wind in the trees.

Today, I live a life of “un-learning.” My path is no longer about power or hidden wisdom; it is about love, compassion, and presence. I’ve returned to the simplicity of the “Green Man”—the raw, honest connection between the human spirit and the living Earth.

Why I’m Here

I started this space at ianbroadmore.com to speak to the fellow travellers—the ones who are tired of the complex systems, the expensive courses, and the “special” gurus.

If you are a seeker who is feeling spiritually dehydrated, I want you to know: The search can end now. You don’t need a middleman. You don’t need an initiation. You just need to listen to your heart.

I’m just a man who took the long way home, and I’m here to tell you that the door was never locked.

In Peace Ian

“The woods have always been my true cathedral. For those interested in the history, myths, and folklore of the natural world that shaped my journey, I maintain a separate archive of that work here: Green Man of the Woods.
